2011 Mason Heritage Festival & Bike Festival
Festivals of Mason is proud to announce the Mason Heritage Festival and Bicycle Festival. This year we are taking a page out of the 1970s, when the Festival was known as “Bicycle Days”. The Festival will have a bicycle theme and plenty of bike-related activities all day long!
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS:
YOU CAN WIN A BIKE!!! At 6PM on the CenturyLink Stage, Festivals of Mason will announce the winners of our Bike Raffle! We will be awarding a bike from one of our Major Sponsors, Trek Bicycles and a Silver Sponsor West Chester Cyclery. You must be present to win. Tickets will be on sale all day long - $5 per ticket, $10 for three tickets. The Trek bicycle - valued at over $1,000 - will be on display at their booth on the Plaza. The West Chester Cyclery bicycle will be on display at the Information Booth, valued at $300. Tickets will be available at the Information Booth.
The Mason Rise & Shine Ride - a 25 mile ride starting and ending at the Mason Grill - 124 E. Main Street in Mason. The ride begins at 6:30AM and there is a $20 entry fee, which includes a commemorative Festival tee shirt. Breakfast is available at the Mason Grill after the ride for an additional charge.
The Heritage & BIcycle Parade steps off at 10AM. This is one of the largest parades in the area, Sponsored by CenturyLink and Kings Island.
Come ride your bike in the parade! Ride to the Municipal Building at 6000 Mason Montgomery Rd. by 8:30AM with your decorated bike. There will be a decorating contest so be creative!

The Eighth Annual Mason Idol Competition finals will take place on the CenturyLink Stage at 1:30PM, preceded by a special dance presentation by Mason Dance Center. Top prize in each age category is $500! Come and cheer on your favorite singer. Sponsored by Mason Dance Center, Mel's Auto Glass, Children's Theatre of Mason.
The GHA Family Bicycle Scavenger Huntbegins at the Mason Community Center - 6050 S. Mason Montgomery Rd. Mason OH 45040 at 2:00, 2:15 and 2:30. Registration is available at www.imaginemason.org and is presented by Group Health Associates.
We are proud to have the National Bicycle Museum on exhibit at the Festival. Stop by the old City Building at 202 E. Main Street - right behind the City of Mason booth - to see several vintage bicycles and an interesting documentary piece.
IMPORTANT FESTIVAL INFORMATION:
Valet Bicycle Parking. YOU CAN RIDE YOUR BIKE TO THE FESTIVAL! Complimentary bike parking will be available at the old firehouse on the corner of Main Street and Mason Montgomery Roads, thanks to the City of Mason Fire Department.
Activity Bracelets. To assist in producing a quality event, Festivals of Mason will charge $5 for activity bracelets for unlimited participation in the various festival activities. A separate bracelet for $10 will be available for unlimited play at Lazer Kraze and all other activities. The bracelets will be available for purchase at the Information Booth.
Road Closings. Main Street at Mason Montgomery and Reading Road at Tylersville Road will close at 5:30AM for festival set up.
Parade Road Closings. Mason Montgomery Road will close at Tylersville Rd. at 9:45AM for the Parade. Reading Rd. at Tylersville will also be closed at that time.
Shuttle Service. Shuttle parking will be available at the Mason Intermediate School, located at 6307 Mason Montgomery Rd. Mason OH 45040. Click HERE for a map. The shuttle will stop at the corner of Church Street and North East Street.

It's time to use your imagination and creativity! Bring your decorated bike to the Municipal Building in the morning for the parade and enter the Bicycle Decorating Contest.

The City Scavenger Hunt
Join us at the Mason Community Center after the Mason Heritage Festival parade to pick up your map, complete a safety check and venture out on a scavenger hunt through the city of Mason on your bicycle. Beginner to advanced riders can travel through Mason's heritage on this exciting nine mile journey. Prizes will be awarded to participants who complete the full journey and submit their stamped map. Helmets are required and participants must follow bicycle safety laws. Each registered participant will receive a t-shirt and one free entry into a drawing to win a TREK bicycle. Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time for the bicycle safety check.
There will be plenty of fun things to do along the way, all the while learning how to get around Mason on your bike! The route will cover a variety of familiar locations in Mason, including some interesting historic points of interest.
